The next two-day Essentials for Managing Drain Repair course will take place on 29th February and 1st March 2012 at WRc offices in Swindon. The aim of the course is to improve understanding of the cost-effective use of this key maintenance discipline. It will examine the investigation and repair of domestic and light industrial drains and identify the key decisions for selecting appropriate repair techniques. Delegates will be given a free copy of the newly published 3rd edition of the Drain Repair book, which both updates and adds content to the previous edition (published in 2005), in keeping with the Drainage Forum's desire for it to be a 'living document'. Changes have been made in response to the significant change in legislation covering drains and sewers in the Transfer of Private Sewers and Lateral Drains in October 2011. Further changes have also been made to reflect users’ comments and particularly feedback received from past delegates of the course.
