Many experimental studies have shown that analytical results are often subject to serious errors, particularly at low concentrations. This can have serious implications for compliance with water quality standards. The simple preposition that it is preferable to obtain 80 results of known and adequate accuracy than 100 results of unknown, and probably inadequate accuracy lies behind the production of this manual.
